Northstar Island—an offshore artificial oil production facility in the Arctic Ocean—was frequently featured in Season 3 and Season 4 of Ice Road Truckers on the History channel.
The drivers from Carlile Transportation routinely hauled heavy, oversized equipment to and from the island across the ocean's sea ice.
